Alibaba 11/11 live streaming

Aim2D: real time, 24/7 #ChinaBusinessMarketing, Tech and Social Media News Portal of The Bicaverse based in sunny Shunyi, North east Beijing. Tuesdays we look at business, marketing, tech or social news in and around China. Friday is image gallery where we examine a place, topic or subject giving you greater insight, background to life in China, and of course, your Chinese consumer. If hard, practical, realistic China consumer marketing support is what you need, do drop into our sister site: Unegager. Finally, in a sign of the times, we can assure you that our content is 100% loving created and hand crafted by a fellow human. No AI chatter bots here.

Today we present a look at shiny new things in China marketing.

This was to be a short article warning of the long term dangers to short term marketing practices for foreign brands in China. We had decided to focus on brands who entered China with massive noise, or in marketing jargon “buzz.” This “buzz” often by way of celebrities, KOL’s or influencers and a strong China MCN campaign.

Only to find themselves reduced to irrelevance in the eyes of their “fans” when the next “Shiny new thing” comes along. We were going to wax lyrical on the need to develop a long term brand awareness in China. Well, anywhere really.

That was until we received our copy of the latest Marketing Cartoon from Tom Fishburne who, with his inimitable style of wit and insight, does a far better job than we could. So, we hope you enjoy ( and maybe even subscribe to your own copy of)
