Hello, good morning from Shunyi for Thursday, April first. Actually, we thought long and hard about releasing a post today given that it is also April Fool’s Day. The tile of today’s short article: “Why are Chinese spending big money on empty bottles” is also likely to be thought of as a joke. However, it is not.

Although the title of Aim2D includes “China Social Media News” we do tend, deliberately, to skirt around that. Why? Well, to be honest, social media in China can be very fickle and fast moving. Its not just a case of here today, gone tomorrow. More of a here this moment, gone the next.

As we prepare the night before press, much of what is “trending” in Chin’s social media can quickly be out of date by the time our article is released. Which for businesses still researching and thinking about China, maybe interesting, but not the most helpful. For firms here who may benefit from it, well, they probably already know.
